Parking lot roofed with solar panels

Gemeente Brummen is proud to announce that it has been awarded the contract to implement solar parking within the 'off natural gas' project. With this project, Gemeente Brummen is taking an important step towards a more sustainable future and demonstrates commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting a greener living environment for its residents.

The project includes the installation of solar panels on the roofs of the town hall, the Brummen fire station and the car shed. In addition, a solar parking lot will be constructed in the parking lot of the town hall, installing carports with solar panels. The planned implementation will start in April/May, with the goal of having everything ready before the summer vacation of 2024.

Sustainable infrastructure for a greener future
"A fantastic step towards a more sustainable future for our municipality," said Climate & Sustainability Alderman Pouwel Inberg. "This project underscores our commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting a greener environment for our residents. We are pleased to have found a good contractor and look forward to the positive impact this will have on our community."

Energy efficiency
The intended effect of this project is to make the town hall, fire station, carriage shed and workshop energy neutral in terms of electricity consumption. This will achieve a significant CO2 reduction of 249 tons per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 200 households.
