Valgenweg - 17,5 MWp
The Valgenweg solar farm is located in Delfzijl in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. Construction of the solar park took five months. 31,176 solar panels with a capacity of 17.5 MWp were installed, providing about 17 GWh of electricity annually. More than 8,750 tons of CO2 are saved annually.
Axpo and Nobian, a leading manufacturer of industrial chemicals, have signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) in the Netherlands, the companies announced earlier. Other shareholders in the solar farm are the local energy cooperative "Bronnen van ons" with its shareholders Eemsdelta Energiek and Windvogel, allowing households in the province of Groningen to benefit from locally generated renewable energy.
Upon completion of construction work, flower strips for insects will be created within the solar park. These can become important food sources for wild bees and other insects. During the construction of the solar park, there is also already provision for sheep to graze the site. Therefore, special bite guards will be used to prevent the animals from being injured and to prevent electrical cables from being damaged.
We would like to thank our project partners who made the realization of that project possible.
