Ketelsteeg Zaltbommel - 1,7 MWp
In Zaltbommel, the old landfill site was given a new function, namely that of producing sustainable energy, after it had been closed for over 30 years. A challenging project, since a landfill has to meet quite a few environmental regulations and long-term stability of the whole is essential. Because we have built up extensive experience with other large-scale landfill projects, we were able to deliver the project without any problems.
With the arrival of more than 3,100 solar panels, more than 1,659,000 kWh of sustainable energy will be produced each year. This is approximately equal to the annual energy consumption of 590 Dutch households.
This is another good example that shows that it is possible to take a real step towards sustainability, by being willing to see the social possibilities and actually implementing them. From 'unusable land' without a zoning plan to a field full of green energy.
