Area 11 (Roodehaan) - 0,8 MWp

Zonnepark Roodehaan, one of the largest solar parks with thin-film solar panels in the Netherlands, is currently being expanded with over 2,000 additional panels, through a beautiful collaboration of Grunniger Power, Sunrock and Sunprojects. This expansion will entirely benefit the residents in the nearby area through an extensive crowd-funding campaign.

In the development of this park, the cultural-historical landscape and nature have been taken into account. An old meander of the river Hunze was preserved and a green strip was kept free in the park for plant species and insects.

In total, 83,000 solar panels have been installed, meaning an installed capacity of over 12 MWp! This will generate green electricity equivalent to the consumption of 3,750 households in Groningen.
